Take it Easy
After seven years on Squarespace, it’s time for a new change and so I’ve decided to transition my writing to Substack.
I’ve been blogging ever since my family first purchased a computer with a 56K modem in the late 90s. Since then, my blog has gone through countless iterations including being self-hosted, Xanga, Blogspot, and Wordpress.
By far, my most successful run was from 2008 to 2016 on Tumblr. It’s there where I both discovered my love of menswear and a community that shared my passion. I loved engaging with this community while sharing new ideas and building on existing ones.
When Tumblr started to decline, I decided to migrate to Squarespace. Over the past seven years, I’ve enjoyed the power and freedom of managing my own site. However, I’ve found it difficult to connect with my audience. Often it feels like I publish posts, only to send them into the void and have no visibility into their reach or how they resonate. In addition, I have no clue if anyone is even coming back.
With Substack, I’m looking forward to writing in a format that will be easier to read, easier to comment on, and most of all - easier to subscribe to. My hope is that this allows me to connect directly with my community of readers and write more valuable content and pieces.
I’ve migrated most of my posts over to Substack already and will eventually close this blog down and redirect my domain over there. I look forward to continuing to write and I hope you join me for the next leg of my journey - so please sit back and take it easy.
